Wow. I've really been a slacker with LJ lately. *blinks*
I still have summer icons uploaded. Me! An icon maker! Shameful! *shakes finger at self*
aaaaand, I haven't even started thinking of Christmas icons. But there MUST be shiny new Christmas icons. Let's hear it from my icon fan club!! *crickets* Helllloooo? :P
Hey, at least I'm posting. w00t! Way to find the silver lining.
So, I recently saw Paranormal Activity. I liked it. I really did. It was creepy, and interesting, and even funny. The suspense was great. Made me jump a few times. Good scary fun. Had a woman behind us that summed up my thoughts at the end, quite nicely, with a well timed "Oh HELL no." Made me giggle. Hee.
I caught some re-runs of Moonlight on Chiller last night. Realized I'm still so very bitter about the cancellation. So. Very. Bitter. *hates in the general direction of CBS*
Wanna see New Moon. Still strongly in Camp Edward. Will not budge from Camp Edward. Ever. "Can't we all just get along??" NO. kthxbye. :P
Oh!!! I just got the new Star Trek from Netfilx. Wheeee!! Yes, I'm the loser that missed it at the theater, but Netflix is helping me not suck. Baby steps, people, baby steps.
Also - seems to be a lot of entertainment based thoughts rolling around in my head - I recently watched S1 of Trueblood, via Netflix, and DAYUM. I was kind of shocked by how nasty it was. I mean, I was embarrassed because it was so nasty. OMG how I wish Jason Stackhouse, and his "dates" would keep their clothes on! I get that he has sex. A lot. But I really got sick of oh-look-Jason's-having-sex-again. See me make use of the fastforward button. After doing my level best to overlook all the gratuitous nudity and sex, I did enjoy the story, and the vampires, and Sookie. Even though every time Bill says "Sooooky" in his over-the-top southern drawl, it makes me think of the Colonel and Belvedere the bulldog in that old Looney Tunes cartoon. "Oh, Belvedere! Come here, Ole Boy!! Aaah, Magnolias" Yes, Bill sounds like the Colonel. Which makes me giggle. Everytime. "Sooooky" *giggles* So I'm looking forward to S2, and hoping that Jason gets hit by a bus, or castrated, or both. ;)
On the domestic goddess front, I'm having curtain angst. I ordered some valances for my guest room, got them in. Put them up. Hated them. Sent them back. Ordered a different set. Got them in. Put them up. Hated them. Now I have to take them back. See my trauma? Now, I will be googling valances obsessively until I find the perfect set. Just another fun thing to stress over. Wheee!
I am looking forward to the holidays, though. I love Thanksgiving. We have family coming in and it's always so much fun when they are here. Looking forward to spending time with family, and doing the whole roasted turkey and trimmings bit. *happy sigh*
Hope everyone is gearing up for a fun holiday too. *hugs all around*

Date: 2009-11-19 07:52 am (UTC)Heee! I never cared about the different camps until I saw the posters fr New Moon and went 'OMG Jacob grew up! And became really hot!' So I guess I'm in camp Jacob now, since he's not a pale,
creepydull stalker.(I'd totally be in camp Edward if this was how their story was portrayed.)

And I agree about Moonlight! Oh how I miss it!!
Any thanksgiving icons? :)

Date: 2009-11-19 06:01 pm (UTC)Ack! Another traitor to the vamp camp!! Hee!
Moonlight. Oh the angst. The show that could have been a huge hit if only CBS wasn't uber stupid.
I don't think I'll have time to do Thanksgiving icons this year. I need to focus on Christmas as it'll take time to complile images before I can even start making them. :)

Date: 2009-11-19 09:04 am (UTC)Yeah, I'm still miffed about Moonlight as well.
Oooh, holiday icons!
Sending along disaster free turkey vibes "winks".

Date: 2009-11-19 06:02 pm (UTC)Thank goodness!! That's a relief!
Moonlight. It makes me sad, angry, and well...mostly angry. ;)
Sending along disaster free turkey vibes "winks".
Yes!! Must protect the turkey at all costs! :D

Date: 2009-11-19 12:17 pm (UTC)Also I agree with you on Moonlight - it's just airing in the UK on a free-to-air channel and I'm loving it. They talk sometimes about a potential feature-length ep/movie but I doubt it'll happen as the show did 'end' rather perfectly. It was just too darned short!
I also love True Blood and mainlined that over a couple of weeks. The second season has a very different journey for Jason - I think you only see his naked bum once! And I think he becomes a much better person by the end of it. I can't wait for season 3!
As for Star Trek, you are not the last person to see it as I still haven't got round to it. I'm looking forward to it, just rather busy!
Sorry for hijacking your journal briefly, I just couldn't resist commenting on the audio-visual feast!

Date: 2009-11-19 06:05 pm (UTC)1 season of Moonlight wasn't enough! Stupid CBS. I hates them!!
So very glad to hear that S2 has less nekkid Jason. So very sick of him whoring around!
I'm hoping to watch Star Trek tonight, maybe. *squee*
No apologies!! Love to see your comments!

If Moonlight had come out last season, or this season, it would have been a huge hit...but nooooooooooo, CBS couldn't keep it going. Idiots. I wonder if they kick themselves for not keeping it? I've noticed that I watch less network TV now and more cable shows as a result of the quick to cancel mentality.
Is it time for Leverage and Burn Notice yet?

Date: 2009-11-19 06:10 pm (UTC)*nods* You're so very right about Moonlight. If CBS would have given it a chance, it would have been a huge hit. They are so very lame.
Seriously. I lurve me some Leverage & Burn Notice. :)

Date: 2009-11-19 06:13 pm (UTC)I haven't read the books, but I'm thinking I need to check them out.
Ugh. Jason is a pig. Thanks for the warning!!! FF all the way!!
Thank you! I may try going curtain shoppping today! I gotta get this resolved. It's driving me crazy! ;)

I will be Netflixing Paranormal Activity. I think it looks pretty snazzy!
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and doggies. :)

P.S. Thank you for the cute Halloween card!

Date: 2009-11-19 10:08 pm (UTC)I think CBS blew it big time when they cancelled Moonlight. I do miss that show.
I really liked Star Trek. I need to go buy the movie.
True Blood would be so much better without all the sex scenes. I don't know if I'll watch S3 or not. =(
*hugs back*

Date: 2009-11-21 03:28 am (UTC)I still need to watch my DVD. Maybe I'll settle in with James T. Kirk tonight. ;)
I agree with you about True Blood. I know that S1 would have been better without all the stupid sex scenes. :/

Date: 2009-11-22 06:55 pm (UTC)I can't wait to buy the DVD and settle in with Spock myself. =)
I think both seasons would have been better without all the sex scenes. It seems like they are putting more and more sex scenes into shows. *sighs* The shows are better without them.

Date: 2009-11-20 12:00 am (UTC)I'm considering buying the DVD so that my dad and I can watch it at Christmas.
Thanksgiving is next Thursday, right? Well, just in case, I'll say it now - Happy Thanksgiving!
Also, Christmas icons = ♥

Yay! Another person who still loves my icons. :D

Date: 2009-11-20 05:09 am (UTC)Christmas icons would be shiny!
I'm still bitter about Moonlight, too. Idiots canceled the show just when it was getting good and just before the great resurgence of interest in vampires.
I think you will like the new Star Trek. I'm traditional, but I still liked it. (Never mind that canon is obliterated.)
Happy Thanksgiving (and don't forget the turkey story)!

Date: 2009-11-21 03:32 am (UTC)Shiny, shiny, Christmas icons. Love working on them.
I know! It makes me ill to think how popular Moonlight would be now if CBS would have had a brain and kept it. Grrrrr!
I heard that even though it didn't stick to canon, it was still good. I'm sure I love it.
Happy Thanksgiving!! Oh yes! Must stick with tradition and post The Turkey Story. :D

Date: 2009-11-21 01:47 am (UTC)I have True Blood as my movie to watch from Netflix!
I look forward to seeing New Moon.
I can't wait to see Paranormal Activity. Some day!
It's kinda almost like we're the same person, if you stretch your imagination. ;-)

Date: 2009-11-21 03:35 am (UTC)You'll love True Blood. We both come from a long line of pervy vampire fanciers.
Paranormal Activity is good if you like suspense, and I love that kind of thing.
*stretches imagination and squints* Yep, we could be the same person! :D
