I had email from my cousin in Miyazaki this morning. They are safe! My Aunt called my Uncle in Noboribetsu, and they are all safe as well! I'm so very grateful and relieved!! Thank you to everyone for their prayers, and kind thoughts for my family!

My friend in Tokyo told me that he has still be unable to contact a friend who lived in Kesenuma, Miyagi Prefecture, which is one of the hardest hit areas. Please keep him in your prayers as well.

I'm continuing to pray for the people of Japan. It's heartbreaking to see all the destruction, and loss of life. I just visited this beautiful country in May of 2010, and I love it dearly. Japan is a part of me, and it's people are forever in my heart. Please keep them all in your prayers and thoughts.

I've been home for two weeks now, and I'm still playing catch up at home and work. Both my Mom and I got sick with colds as soon as we arrived home, so that set me back. So very glad we didn't get sick during the trip!

Japan was wonderful, fabulous, and awesome. Mom and I had a great time together.

So, I pulled up my pre-trip bullet point list to let everyone know how my expectations/concerns matched up with my actual experiences.

Bullet Points... )

My first week in Japan has been amazing! It's been so wonderful to visit with my family over here. Having a bond even though you've never met before is very cool. Have seen beautiful scenery, and met lots of kind and gracious people! My Mom and I are having the time of our lives. Will try to post a few pics soon. :)

In the midst of running around like a nut doing last minute OMGI'MGOINGTOJAPAN things, (my flight leaves at 6 in the morning) I wanted to pop in and say thank you to everyone for the kind birthday shout-outs, wishes, gifts, and cards. I'm a very lucky girl to have such awesome friends in RL, and here in LJ land. :)

I'll try to post pics and possibly even update while I'm in Japan if at all possible!

*hugs you all*

P.S. I hope all the moms out there had a fabulous Mother's Day. Even those that only parent 4-legged fur babies, like me!! :D

So...I've been trying to get into the twittering groove. Still forget to tweet some days, but it's improving! Speaking of Twitter, I think I wanna do a poll later. Pollz R fun. ;)

I've been busy with yard projects on the domestic goddess front. Hubby has been great with knocking out the "Honey-dos". We built a little handicap ramp off of our deck for the Baby Dogs, as my littlest one is no longer allowed to use stairs. She's also not allowed to jump on and off furniture. Vet's orders, as she's had some inflammation in her spinal discs that have caused pressure to nerves controlling her legs. She had been stumbling, but after cutting out the climbing/jumping - she's much steadier on her feet now, thank goodness. They zip up and down the ramp, which is so cute.

Hubby also re-laid our flagstone path, (I was the official finger-pointing supervisor of the project - go me!) setting them with cement/mortar this time. We'd used sand to set them, last spring, and thanks to record breaking rains, most of that washed away. I like the new pathway much better, plus no worries about it washing out anymore. \o/

Another pretty big thing...I'm going to Japan with my Mom in May. *squeees while running in panicked circles* Yeah. It's a weird mix of looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time. I think that makes me neurotic. Last time I was in Japan, I was 10 years old. My Mom and I stayed for 3 months that visit. It was awesome, and I had a wonderful time. I did get stared at, even though I'm 1/2 Japanese. I was tall, and had brown not black hair...so I stood out, but Mom (God bless her) told me it was because people thought I was pretty. Hee. Wonder if that one will work on me now? :P

Time for bullet points, and a cut tag.

*flails* )

So that's me. Um, yay?
