You know it's a thing. :P Time to share the The Turkey Story. What Thanksgiving would be complete without it?

Many of you on my f-list are hardened veterans of my annual tradition of posting The Turkey Story. However, there are also many of you on my f-list who have yet to experience the profound ~~trauma~~ awe that only reading this story can bring.

What the Frilly Heck? I've put my underwear on, inside out, 3 times in a row now. Self, this is NOT rocket science. I mean, come on...you're licensed to operate a motor vehicle for heaven's sake. Underwear should not be a puzzle to sort out. Get with the program.

At last!!! Victory is mine, mine, MINE!!! Mwahahahahaaa!

Well, at least it finally was after a 6 hour power outage. :P

Our power was finally restored at 10:30 pm, and I was able to enjoy a couple of hours of my new Dish Network set up before going to bed. So w00t! In the epic battle of Eyesthatslay vs. Dish Network I am the holder of the belt, the keeper of the title, the Grand Poobah Champion.

*sticks tongue out at Dish Network nemeses* Neener, neener, neener!!

Yes, I am 12. :P

I got Dish Network installed today! \o/

It took about 3 1/2 hours but I finally got it!! Shawn did the taller pole install w/out a problem. We were even able to put the pole closer to our house, where we wanted it. He set up my shiny new receiver, he made sure all 5 (yes, I said 5) of our TVs were getting reception. I got my programming all set up. Got to see how lovely the HD channels looked. Had my soothe-the-angry-porcupine, $10 off a month for 12 months credit applied to the new account. It was all good.

Shawn was showing me how to use the remote, and a few minutes into his demonstration...the power goes out. *headdesk*

Yep. I've got Dish Network, and throughly enjoyed it for a whole whopping 10 minutes before our power went out.

Shawn declared the demonstration over, & went away. I called Entergy and reported the outage. Have been waiting nearly 2 1/2 hours and it still isn't back on yet.

So. I finally freaking have Dish Network with HD....but I can't freaking watch it because I have no power.

Kill. Me. Nao. I iz cursed.

Hopes this will not evolve into Eyesthatslay vs. Entergy.

*goes to scream into pillow*

So, recently I decided that I wanted to upgrade to DVR. I've been a DirecTV customer for 11 years, and called them to get pricing. They were on crack. They wanted to charge me $150.00 for 2 DVRs, and then add $17 a month to my bill. The extra charges per month included lease fees for the DVR equipment they want me to pay for. Which, hello?...if I pay for the equipment, why do I have to pay lease fees? Yeah, I didn't get it either.

I figured I'd call Dish Network, to see what kind of "new customer" deals they were offering. I couldn't be happier with what they offered. A 2 room receiver, 1 HD, and 1 standard. 2 room DVR, and a package with 100 more channels than I was getting with Direct. Plus, 6 months at 1/2 price, then after that we'd be paying the same amount we were already paying Direct. So we were going to get lots more for our money. Sounds good right? I discussed it with Hubby, and then scheduled the installation.

Well, peeps. I'm still sick, but feeling much better. My Dr. prescribed some antibiotics, and cough syrup and they seem to be helping. So yay for that. But...I digress. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and we all know what that means.
