Yeah, I don't know what I would do in that situation. I've got a 12 year old deaf dog that needs pills everyday and three already abused cats. I just pray I never have to make that choice because I suspect I'd go down with them before I'd leave them.
The conditions there are deteriorating every day. I know that I'd try to get myself *and* my babies out of there ASAP. The water that people have been wading through is full of sewage, oil, gasoline, and natural gas. I'm sure there will be a way provided for the animals to leave with their owners.
Oh, when I was at work yesterday, this woman bought a bunch of cat and dog food she was going to donate for the evacuees' pets! I thought that was awesome.
(P.S. -- I'm also under yaylittlemorals; I just friended you to my baby daughter's LJ too!)
I hope that a way will be provided for people to evacuate with their pets.
I thought it was neat how in the article I posted, people smuggled their pets onto the buses, and the drivers often turned a blind eye. It is heartwarming to know that some pets made it out with their owners.
That was one of the reasons I decided to donate to the Humane Society. I wanted to make sure that somehow the pets wouldn't be without either.
Thanks for friending me with your other journal too! *friends you again* :D
