So I went and looked at digital cameras again today. It is a thing. I circle the showcases like a hungry shark, but I can't seem to make myself take a bite. I want the shiny, new camera, so I can post cute shiny pic spam...I just don't want to pay the big shiny price. It is like a electronics tango. Ah, the angst.

I also picked up Angel S5, and looked at it longingly before putting it back. Mainly, I abstain because I just bought BtVS S7, and I haven't even watched/screen capped all the episodes yet. One project at a time, I tell myself.

I finally watched Lost, and that pretty much describes how I felt during the entire episode. Totally LOST. No big surprise since I haven't watched a single previous episode. After the ep, I did some research. 48 people crash on a tropical island 1000 miles off course, blah, blah, blah...Polar Bears, and french distress signals, blah, blah, blah...Shannon does her nails, blah, blah...well you get the picture. So as I watched the boat gets burned and the poor korean guy gets the snot beat out of him, all because he can't speak english and say "I didn't burn the boat". I found myself pining away mightily for some snark...Some dry wit, gelled hair, pointy teeth, something! I wanted back my BtVS/Angel in a bad way. So much so that I surfed the internet for details on Joss Whedon. If I could get my hands on that little man, I swear I'd squeeze him until a good TV series popped out. I'm a sad desperate woman. :P

I am determined, however, to give House a chance. I'm thinking that it might be along the lines of what I need. Here's to hoping.

Last night I dreamt that Spike and I were watching Pride & Prejudice. Yes, only I could fit Spike and Mr. Darcy into one dream. :P Maybe tonight I'll dream that Mr. Darcy and I are watching BtVS? Hee. Amazing what a traumatized mind can conjure up. ;)

I really enjoyed this week's episode of Lost personally, but I can see how it kind of pales next to old style Joss tv. There's nothing quite like BtVS and Angel.

I probably would have enjoyed it more, if I knew the characters. Half of the episode, I was trying just to figure out who everyone was. I know I'm not giving it a very fair chance watching it so late. I will say that I think that Sun & Jin are both really good actors though.

I like your layout! Much with the prettyness! The actors that play them are like, the Brad Pitt and uh... Jennifer Aniston of Korea!

I'm liking lost, but it's not as good as some quality Joss TV. Though you do get some snark from Sawyer, the guy who kicked Jin in the head for wrecking his ride before dragging him on the beach is pretty snarky most of the time.

And also, Jin? Is "Gavin" from Wolfram and Hart :)

I didn't get to see too much of Sawyer. I could like seeing some snark, so maybe I'll try again next week. ;)

And also, Jin? Is "Gavin" from Wolfram and Hart :)
Omgosh! I *knew* he looked so familiar, but I couldn't place him! DOH! Thanks for solving the mystery for me! :)

Yeah Sawyer wasn't around much sadly :( probably because last week was a big Sawyer-centric episode. But he's usually good for some snark :)

I probably would have had that "How do I know him??" too but I think when it started I had just been watching the episodes of Angel with him in it and I was, "Hey! It's Gavin! Hi Gavin!"

And if you really want some snark, check out [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's recaps. They're great for snark AND for catching up on the episodes.

Darn, so I was a week late getting started. Isn't that just my luck. :)

Lol, I'm glad that you recognized him, because I probably would have never placed him. :)

Thanks for the recap rec! I'll go check it out. :D

"House" is bursting at the seams with snark. :) Great snappy dialogue, although I haven't watched enough to know if the characters are well developed.

I really like Lost, but I can see where coming in mid-season would be really confusing. Alot of it makes no sense if you haven't seen the relationships between the characters develop. (And Lost and Alias both have previously-Jossverse writers working on them now, which can only bode godo things. :)

Oh, so you've been watching House? I love the lead guy. I remember him as Mr. Palmer in Sense & Sensibility. He had the sarcasm down in that role. ;) I'm defintely going to make an effort to catch the next ep.

I've never watched Alias either. (see how much I suck) It does my heart good to know that writers with Jossverse history are working on both of those shows though. I may try to see if I can get into Lost.

I just hope that if I do get "hooked" on anything, it won't get cancelled!:P

I have yet to see the ending of an episode of House, because I always start it when I have the place to myself on Tuesday nights, and then get interupted when my sisters get home between nine thirty and quarter of, lol. But I love the lead guy too... he cracks me up. :)

As far as Lost, it and Desperate Housewives are being lauded as the shows that saved ABC, so I really don't think it's going to be cancelled. *crosses fingers* The person who posted below this is right, "Outlaws" was a great episode, so if you get a chance to watch that, I'd do it. :)

Aww, I hate it when I don't get to see the end of a show! I'm definitely going to give it a go, and will watch a episode or two more of Lost to see if it grows on me.

Thanks for the info! :)

My advice on Lost, try a couple of epiosdes before you give up. Last night was a hard episode to watch for a first timer. Subtitles really don't help the show very much.

If you can, try and download some of the episodes either through torrents or kazaa...

Lost isn't Joss TV but it's the closest thing I've found to it all season. It's the only television show on that has meaty scripts that you can dig in a disect. Each character has layers upon layers and each episode does a great job at going into their psyche.(this lastest episode really wasn't nearly as good of an example of this, unfortunately) JJ Abrams does have a different way of storytelling thats a bit hard to get used to, as he keeps much of the information about the island secret. He's not a fan of spilling things out along the way. In addition to this many of the characters are hiding things from us which is different from what we saw in the Joss verse. But like I said, it contributes to the overall different style of Lost, constructing episodes based on part of a character's past. That being said there are Mutant Enemy alums that are working on Lost such as David Fury, who is now co-exec producer and writing such amazing scripts like Locke's "Walkabout" episode and Drew Goddard, who penned last weeks Sawyer episode, "Outlaws" which IMO was also excellent. Although small, there certainly footprints of the old Jossverse through their presence.

Ahh, I tend to ramble...

Well in short, give it another chance...

How was your birthday? I hope it was good. I posted a little b-day wish for you, but I didn't think you saw it. :)

I know it was going to be hard for me to enjoy the show coming into the season so late, so I am going to try to watch it a few more times to see if I can get into it. It helps to know that Jossverse writers are doing some of the writing, so hopefully the next few episodes will appeal to me more. :)

Thanks for the information, and encouragement! It would be fun to get involved in another show.

I've watched Lost almost every week. I enjoy it and want to keep up with it, but so far I'm not at the stage where it would ruin my week if I missed it. There is a good share of snark, mostly in the person of Sawyer, the resident pretty bad boy.

The Korean guy pretty much had the beating coming to him from how he's treated the other guy in the past, but I can see where that scene would have been even more shocking if you didn't have that context.

You dreamed about Mr. Darch and Spike? Oh man, that would be the dream to have.

*Wistful now*

I've heard alot of Sawyer, but it so happens that this ep didn't show much of him. I hope that I will get a chance to see his character over the next couple of episodes. I haven't gotten into any show since Angel was canceled, and I miss the fun of looking forward to the next plot turn. :)

Yeah, it was a nice dream. *sigh* ;)

--it took me a while to decide on a digital camera as well, do keep circling :)

--Good on you for abstaining frm Angel S5, i just added it to my Amazon Wishlist, actually. My uncle has been buying me the Buffy seasons for bdays and holidays and i was worried that i wouldn't have anything to tell him to get me. And then, i was thinking, "Oh yeah!" Hee.

--I think you've noticed how I feel about "Lost", if it wasn't obvious. I don't think that JJ is even close to Joss in terms of character and plot development or even dialogue, especially in regards to "lost". I liked JJ when he was doing "Felicity" and even during the first 2 seasons of "alias", but since then... I find that he's kinda "lost". Though, i can't say you wouldn't enjoy the show, and I'll join in and say that you may want to give a couple it another ep or two before you decide. Just for me personally, nothing held me there. Though, quick note: There is Sawyer=Spike hype. Do not buy it :) Hee, no, I'm not biased...

--"House M.D" i think is deifnitely worth it. It's well-written, intersting characters so far, and darn it, if it would just get out its standard formula, I'd like it even more.

I knew the novelty wore off pretty quickly for you. I think I will give it a couple of more episodes, and see how I feel. I can't imagine anyone being equal to Spike. I honestly adored that character more than any on TV.

I'm glad to hear that you have enjoyed House too. I'm looking forward to catching it this coming week.

I've yet to watch it, but I'm counting on checking it out Tues. You gonna watch too? Then we can commiserate and be all heifer-y and stuff. :P
