Egg Rolls
2 – 14oz cans bean sprouts drained or 16 oz fresh bean sprouts
1 – 8 oz can sliced water chestnuts drained
1 – 8 oz can bamboo shoots drained
1 lb pork meat cut into thins strips (can use chicken or no meat if preferred)
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbls soy sauce
salt, pepper, & pinch of sugar to taste
1 – pkg egg roll wrappers
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
deep fryer with hot oil
Cook pork in large skillet with 2-3 tablespoons olive oil, and garlic powder. Once pork is browned, add all vegetables. Cook till vegetables are tender. Add soy sauce, salt, pepper, sugar to taste. Drain mixture, let cool.
Place the wrapper as a diamond. Place 2 tbls of mixture in center of egg roll wrappers. Fold up the bottom point over the mixture. Moisten all around wrapper edges with finger dipped in water, and fold around the mixture like an envelope. Fold in each side and seal to the bottom point. Then fold down the upper point and seal to finish the wrapping. Wrap all rolls before frying.
Heat oil for frying, and fry until rolls are light brown. Drain and serve.
That's it! Simple and oh so yummy! :)
