Let Me Eat Cake
Feb. 5th, 2004 10:37 amFirst off, big hugs and thanks to
angstchic for the best cake in the world. YUM. It is so good that I'm really not of the sharing with the husband, who unfortunately remembered that he loves her cake, even though one of the ingredients is sour cream (not one of his favorites). *sigh* What's worse is this morning I got up and checked the cake, and noted that a big honking piece was missing. To add insult to injury he had completely hogged the glaze that had puddled in the middle of the plate. Gah. The. Nerve.
Oh, and a huge thanks to
eurydice72 for the giftee! I lurve it! I guess I'll still share it with my husband even though he is on thin ice with the glaze hogging. ;)
Also, hugs to
amoonchilde for all the laughs, (complete with snorting) we had on the phone last nite before the ep. Spurt/Muffy shippers we are *not*. Fetch me a mop, bucket, squeege, power washer, automated car wash, scuba gear complete with flippers.....Bwahaha! I lurve you sweetie!
I had mixed feelings about the episode. I'm glad that Cordelia was once again behaving as Cordelia. She also looks good after having her baby. I think that her shirts had some buttons missing though, and it is unfortunate that is something they feel is necessary. I personally find it distracting when someone in the scene is hanging out of their clothing in such an obvious way.
I thought is was sweet how they showed that video of Doyle, and how sad it is that GQ actually died not to long ago. I think that was a great way to touch on his story for those not familiar with the name that Lindsey was going by, and a way to bring to Angel's attention how far he had strayed from his original objectives.
I truly did enjoy Eve getting smacked down. She annoyed me to no end. I'm so glad that she is gone, and I hope it is permanent. I had kind of hoped that Lindsey would have been around longer, but that is the way it goes. I enjoyed his fight scene with Angel, but he and Eve had *zero* chemistry as a couple, IMO.
I'm tired of Spike being played as is he evil/not evil with the whole biting Cordy bit. Can we just get past that please? Hum? We know he is a good guy, already.
I thought that Cordelia's moment with Wes was well played. The killing of Lilah was touched on perfectly, and I think it was necessary, and a good thing.
I still think that DB can't emote to save his life. The poor guy just sucks at portraying emotion on screen. That last goodbye scene between A/C didn't move me at all. I'm one of those that never felt any chemistry between Angel & Cordelia. To me their final goodbye lacked the intensity and feeling that it should of had. It should have touched me, and it didn't. I have to say that even though I'm glad that they put an end to Cordelia's character, I'm pleased that she went out with that snark that was what most of us enjoyed about her.
