Wow. Christmas is right around the corner!
...aaaaand I've not done ANY Christmas shopping yet! *runs in panicked circles*
This. Is. Not. Good!
Seems like fate has conspired against me the past few weeks. Being sick with the flu didn't help, thank goodness I'm practially over all of it now, other than having to still take a 1/2 a dose of cough meds before bedtime. Then I've had minor eyeball drama.
I had, a couple of weeks ago, what I thought was a case of pink-eye. (ended up I was wrong) I picked up some Similisan drops, stopped wearing my contacts, and treated it for a couple of days, and it cleared up. I tossed the contacts, and the eyemake up I'd used when I noticed the problem, and started with all fresh stuff. I didn't wear contacts since I'd been sick with the flu for about a week and a half, but the other day I ended up wearing a new set for a few hours. I'd been to the salon, and then planned to finally do some Christmas shopping. I'd only been shopping for about an hour, when I noticed that my right eye felt irritated. I looked for a mirror in the store, and OMG! My eye was completely bloodshot! It looked terrible! I decided to take my contact out immediately, as I didn't want it to get any worse, and hoped that I'd be able to deal with having only one eye in focus. Didn't happen. It was driving me crazy and giving me a headache, so I cut my shopping short and headed straight home to remove my remaining contact, and get my glasses. Then I went to my eye doctor to find out what was up. Turns out it wasn't pink eye. He said it was apparently an irritation that had been progressing, and that it had reached a point that putting in contacts caused a complete flare up reaction. He prescribed anitbiotic/streroid drops, and I can't wear contacts until this coming Thursday, but hopefully after that - I'll be able to wear contacts without that terrible reaction.
So, this week my mission is to complete ALL my Christmas shopping. Must. Not. FAIL!
On an entertainment note. I've been following Fringe sporadically. I've been distracty lately, and I find myself having trouble connecting the dots. I watch and enjoy the show, and love the character interactions, but I am lamely unable to focus enough to tie the underlying conspiracy thing together. I see scenes that I know are supposed to give me an "A-HA!" moment, but I don't care. I don't have the energy or concentration at this point. I've reaaaally got to get it together before Lost begins in Jan.!!! I must be at the top of my paranoid "OMG did youSEEEEthat" game by then.
I also caught the second episode of Leverage, (thanks to
In fact. I've been so distracted that
No worries, I did finally subcumb to the overwhelming allure of her fabulous homemade Chex Mix (nom, nom, nom), and didn't get a bald-do at the Salon. I settled for an angled bob. No intervention necessary. This time at least. ;)
So yeah. That's my life. Jealous? :P

Date: 2008-12-14 09:02 pm (UTC)Yay! It's nice to see another Leverage fan. So far, I'm really enjoying it. And I'm still liking Fringe, but you do indeed have to be paying attention.
Best wishes with getting all your Christmas shopping done.

Date: 2008-12-14 09:08 pm (UTC)I hope that Leverage continues to entertain me, and you are so correct...Fringe requires paying attention - hopefully I will be able to do better in the coming episodes.
Thank you! I need all the help I can get! :D

Date: 2008-12-14 10:05 pm (UTC)I also caught the second episode of Leverage, and I must say...the writing is "spit-take" witty. I likey. I think I'll be tuning in again. IF I can focus enough to remember when it airs.
I <3333 Leverage. Tuesdays at 10pm, although, since it's TNT, it'll be reaired during the week. ^_~ My CK love knows no bounds, but the cast plays so well with each other.
A bald ETS? OMG! Say it isn't so! Although, reading that you got an angled bob makes me chuckle. Guess we're back to looking like twins - yup! that's what I'm currently sporting. Hee!

Date: 2008-12-15 02:34 am (UTC)The cast does play so well off of one another. That's another reason it's so much fun to watch. Do you still call CK's character Lindsey though? *giggles* I keep doing that!
Hee! We are hair twins, imagine that! Yay for angled bobs on brunettes. :D

We are, we are! Oh, hey, you going to D*C this year again? Or, is it too early to tell?

I don't think I'm going to be able to do D*C this year. I'm planning on maybe going to visit

Date: 2008-12-15 08:55 am (UTC)I think Christmas has crept up on us all this year. I went to put up my tree this morning, and I couldn't find it! Normally I finish my gift buying in November, but I've still got one to go. Just not in the mood at all, at the moment.

Date: 2008-12-15 07:16 pm (UTC)Hubby used to wear contacts and he had some major irritation issues. Have you thought about getting lasered? It's expensive but OMG the best $5k we ever spent. He had it done at 4pm Thursday and could have driven himself to his 8.30am appointment the next morning. Thoroughly recommend it. He has chronic dry eye also, from not making enough tears, and he takes Omega 3 which has made such a difference. Just in case that info is helpful to you!

Date: 2008-12-20 04:27 am (UTC)I have looked into getting Lasik done, but it is expensive, and something else always seems to be a priority. Maybe I'll win the lottery or something! :P
Thanks for the Omega 3 tip! My eye doctor put me on Acuvue Advance lenses with Hydraclear to help with my eye dryness. They are much easier on my eyes than the regular Acuvues I used to wear, but any tips are appreciated!

Date: 2008-12-20 10:31 am (UTC)It wasn't fun, but it did illustrate to me that the body can heal itself without antibiotics, just not quickly. :o/
Omega 3 is awesome, not only for dry eyes but for out of control kiddies and mental fuzziness. I am seriously thinking of taking it for my baby brain!

Date: 2008-12-20 04:30 am (UTC)Eye irritations do suck. I'm sorry that you've had a recent bout of it too. I've finally worn contacts the last couple of days, and everything has gone fine. Looks like my eye is doing great now. :)
