I seem to be battling sinus problems. I've had the scratchy throat, some coughing, and some sinus-type headaches. Plus, *feels forehead and frowns* I feel a bit feverish. I don't want to get sick! I took a 3 hour nap today, so I must have needed the extra rest. Hopefully that will help my system fight off this stuff.

I'm so glad that many people liked and snagged icons from my hugs/comfort/support set. I love making icon sets that people can use for different expressions of feeling. I like to think I'm the "Hallmark Cards" of the icon making community. :) Which once again reminds me to let [personal profile] angstchic know to just stick with cake. :P

I've been semi busy on the domestic goddess front the past couple of days. I've done mountains of laundry, including all the bedding, and washed and perfumed the baby dogs to boot! I just love their perfume, it's called "Miss Claybone" hee. They have been so cute and snuggly lately, which always lifts the spirits, even when I'm not feeling my best.

I finally sat down today and watched the bonus DVD of my Lost S2 set, and I loved it. Especially the featurette "The World According to Sawyer" Hee. I laughed out loud at all the silly nicknames he gives everyone. The bloopers were also hi-larious. *giggles* I'm so ready for S3 to get started! W00t!

I also recently bought March of the Penguins, and plan on watching it tonight. *feels like the only loser on the planet that hasn't seen it* I just hope that eeep! there isn't a lot of predator/prey footage. That just...wah! I don't like seeing smaller cuter things being eaten by bigger meaner things. It traumatizes me, man! I'm one of those people that ends up watching The National Geographic Channel/Discovery Channel like a deranged sports fanatic enthusiastically cheering for a touchdown. I start yelling at the TV frantically "Run, run RUN!!! Run for your little life!!! GO, antelope/penguin/seal/babyanything, GO!!!" The suspense sometime sends me hopping up out of my seat. Then if the lucky antelope/penguin/seal/babyanything manages to make it's escape, I sometime applaud and cheer in relief. Yeah. So not the most relaxing form of entertainment for me. Ahem. :P

So if you hear lots of yelling in the distance, its just me watching March of the Penguins. *is dork*

Don't worry, I haven't seen March Of The Penguins either :o)

I suggest a good belt of echinacea liquid for your cold. Apparently this week scientists have confirmed what natural healers have know for thousands of years... if taken early it reduces both the severity and duration of the common cold. It tastes like doody but not so bad if you pop it in a bit of soda. You'll know if it's good stuff if it makes your tongue tingle. Feel better soon!

Yay, I wasn't the only one! :)

Thanks for the echinacea tip, after a good night's rest I feel much better. :)

I react the EXACT same way to nature shows! My mother loves to tell a story about me when I was 3, and I was suppose to be watching cartoons as she made my sister's birthday cake, but not 10 minutes in I began screaming and when my mother ran into the living room I was freaking out because a lizard was eating baby turtles and I wanted him to stop.

As for March of the Penguins... bring tissues. It isn't overly bad, but for sensitive people like us, any bad makes tissues a requirement.

OMG I think I remember the lizard eating the baby turtles! Run away, baby turtles! To the sea! To the sea! Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!! ::flashbacks to my childhood::

Luckily, there were a hell of a lot of baby turtles. Heh.

OMgosh I remember watching something like that too, and I think birds were grabbing the baby turtles too! Wah!

I got a bit misty-eyed a few times during the movie, but I soldiered through. :)

I LOVE penguins...so I had to drag Ed to see this movie on the big screen. I loved it, but did tear up in a couple of places. I hope you feel better quickly. Sinus headaches are the worst...no wait! Make that colds are the worst...every symptom imaginable with nothing to cure it! Feel well soon!!!!

I hope you don't get sick, either! Actually, just a few hours ago I found that my ear ached badly and now I'm getting a sore throat. :( I just recovered from a cold! AAAH!

And don't worry, I'm the EXACT same way with nature videos. XD

Heh. Yer cute. And yeah, I want the cute and fluffy, too.

"Run, chinchilla, ruuuun!!"

Are you saying I should check out this post of yours? Like maybe I'd find the little iconages helpful? Say it ain't so.

....

You know, just because they don't typically make greeting cards with sentiments like "...just, damn." or "Thank God, you loser!" doesn't mean they shouldn't.

Fine. But I still say that "Wow. Sucks to be you" ought to be a valid expression of commiseration in certain situations. ::Nods::

Aw... I hope you get to feeling better. Did you drink some green tea?

hee :) Claybone. *snerk* I love your icons; you really are the Hallmark of LJ. I'm excited to hear about Lost S2. I haven't seen it but can't wait to get it. I bet my roommate gets it, though. He's very sneaky.

*sheepish* I've not seen 'March of the Penguins.' Is good, yes? I hear it's good.

Love the flickery candle icon, btw. Very nice.

Hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

Thanks, sweetie. I drank some hot tea with lemon and honey, which always seems to help. :) I feel much better today, so hopefully I've dodged the bullet for now.

March of the Penguins was good, and only a few teary parts. :)

Thank you for the sweet comments on the icons, hon. They mean a lot!

I watched a show on hippos a few months ago and was all happy at first because, yay, hippos! But then a little baby 2-day old hippo got eaten by a crocodile or alligator and I couldn't stop crying. I wish they'd either just show happy animal shows or create a whole other channel to show them instead of the real thing. They could edit in some happier footage instead of all the yucky sad stuff for us more sensitive folk.

Date: 2006-09-23 11:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] eyesthatslay.livejournal.com
OMGOsh. See that is exactly what I'm talking about. Wah! Poor baby hippo! They are sooo cute too. *sniff* You poor thing, seeing that. *hugs*

I could totally get into a "all happy, all the time" nature channel. It's like I know that bad things happen in the animal world, and that predators need to eat, but I still hate seeing it!

Exactly! I much prefer the ostrich approach what with the sticking my head in the sand and ignoring everything bad/sad and all.

I love LOVE Lost, but it can be confusing, especially if episodes are missed. Maybe you'll be able to catch up this season.

I know the predator needs to eat, but I hate seeing the actual kill. Wah! I always want the prey to get away, ESPECIALLY if it's a baby.

I haven't seen it either, apparently there is some penguin sadness and I don't wanna see that. Hell, it took me a week to watch Eight Below when someone gave me the DVD! Yes, I am such a softy under my barnacled exterior. Don't tell anyone at work.

Sinus problems suck. :(

I just wanted to say that I haven't been on LJ in awhile, but I've missed your icons. Also, I want desparatly for you to become a fan of Grey's Anatomy so you can make those icons too. ;)

Have you ever made Friends Only Banners?

Date: 2006-09-24 12:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] eyesthatslay.livejournal.com
Yes they do. Thankfully I seem to be on the upswing today. :)

I've been making lots of icon posts lately, so you'll have to backtrack to see if there are any you'd like. :)

I've not watched Grey's Anatomy, but I've heard good things about it. I'm committed to House M.D. and Lost right now, and until I get tired of one of them, I doubt I'll be able to cram in another show interest. :)

I don't make FO banners, as icons are more than enough to keep my busy.

I'm so with you on the whole Nat'l Geo/Animal Planet thang...I can't watch those shows because I end up weeping and strangle-holding one of my dogs. You are not the only loser who hasn't seen MotP. Nope. Come over the loser corner and sit by me. I've had the damn thing on tivo for eons and have only watched snippets. *am such a wimp when it comes to animals hurting* -- kill and maim all the humans you want, I will watch with a yawn, but touch a doggie, kittie, or other helpless creature and I freak.

Not only will I sit with you, I'll snuggle with you too. :P

We are weenies. Card carrying members of the weenie tribe. But that's ok, because we're so cute. :D

Animal abuse really, really upsets me. Like beyond upset. I pity the fool that would dare lay a finger on one of my baby dogs. I'd go to prison, no doubt about it.

OMGosh your doggies in your icon are so cute! *loves on them*

I'm responding to my flist very late so I hope you're feeling better by now. Kiersten woke up throwing up this morning but I'm hoping it's just one of those 24 hour bugs. The girl's dance schedule is way too busy for her to be sick.

Well - I've never seen the Penguin movie - just never felt the desire. So you're not the only one left on the planet.

For the record, you're not the only who hasn't seen March of the Penguins. I haven't either. But then, I'm poor. I haven't seen anything that's been released in theaters since Narnia came out, and that was the first movie I'd seen at the theater in 6 months. And that came out last Christmas. Oh wait, my sister took me to see The Devil Wears Prada. But anyway. My point was that I sympathize and you're not alone. I'm so out of the loop. People ask me, "Have you seen (fill in popular movie that EVERYONE has seen here)______?" And my answer is always "no." My boyfriend is horrified by this and has made it his personal mission to show me all the good movies I've missed. *shrugs* Whatever. It's not that important. There's no real impact on my life if I haven't seen Superman or Spiderman 2 or Star Wars Eps 2 or 3.

I miss all the new movies lately! I love going to the theater, but I haven't been in forever. I honestly can't even remember the last movie I saw at the theater. It may have been Narnia too! O_O

I am hopelessly addicted to buying DVDs however, which makes me poor too. :)

Thanks, hon. I am feeling better. I hope you aren't too bored being laid up. You need Netflix, so you can catch up on all those movies while you are abed. ;)

Thanks! I get to be completely off bed rest after my doctor appointment tomorrow, provided everything has healed correctly, that is. They're taking out the stitches and putting a new cast on. I think the reason I had to be on bed rest for so long was because once the swelling in my ankle from the surgery went down, the cast became too big and it wasn't holding my ankle immobilized very well anymore. That's my guess anyway. I haven't been listening too well though. I had my birthday party anyway. I sat down most of the time, so I was still behaving myself to some extent. I am at least allowed to sit up and stuff now. It's still getting old though. My boyfriend is so cute and taking such good care of me, but I hate not having a car and not being able to walk anywhere or do anything. Especially since his car chose this time to die too. I just want my life back. It could be worse though. I'm glad it happened after I started dating Ken and not before. This would have been so much worse without him!
