Sands through the hourglass...

I seem to be battling sinus problems. I've had the scratchy throat, some coughing, and some sinus-type headaches. Plus, *feels forehead and frowns* I feel a bit feverish. I don't want to get sick! I took a 3 hour nap today, so I must have needed the extra rest. Hopefully that will help my system fight off this stuff.
I'm so glad that many people liked and snagged icons from my hugs/comfort/support set. I love making icon sets that people can use for different expressions of feeling. I like to think I'm the "Hallmark Cards" of the icon making community. :) Which once again reminds me to let
angstchic know to just stick with cake. :P
I've been semi busy on the domestic goddess front the past couple of days. I've done mountains of laundry, including all the bedding, and washed and perfumed the baby dogs to boot! I just love their perfume, it's called "Miss Claybone" hee. They have been so cute and snuggly lately, which always lifts the spirits, even when I'm not feeling my best.
I finally sat down today and watched the bonus DVD of my Lost S2 set, and I loved it. Especially the featurette "The World According to Sawyer" Hee. I laughed out loud at all the silly nicknames he gives everyone. The bloopers were also hi-larious. *giggles* I'm so ready for S3 to get started! W00t!
I also recently bought March of the Penguins, and plan on watching it tonight. *feels like the only loser on the planet that hasn't seen it* I just hope that eeep! there isn't a lot of predator/prey footage. That just...wah! I don't like seeing smaller cuter things being eaten by bigger meaner things. It traumatizes me, man! I'm one of those people that ends up watching The National Geographic Channel/Discovery Channel like a deranged sports fanatic enthusiastically cheering for a touchdown. I start yelling at the TV frantically "Run, run RUN!!! Run for your little life!!! GO, antelope/penguin/seal/babyanything, GO!!!" The suspense sometime sends me hopping up out of my seat. Then if the lucky antelope/penguin/seal/babyanything manages to make it's escape, I sometime applaud and cheer in relief. Yeah. So not the most relaxing form of entertainment for me. Ahem. :P
So if you hear lots of yelling in the distance, its just me watching March of the Penguins. *is dork*

Date: 2006-09-23 02:22 am (UTC)I suggest a good belt of echinacea liquid for your cold. Apparently this week scientists have confirmed what natural healers have know for thousands of years... if taken early it reduces both the severity and duration of the common cold. It tastes like doody but not so bad if you pop it in a bit of soda. You'll know if it's good stuff if it makes your tongue tingle. Feel better soon!

Date: 2006-09-23 11:43 pm (UTC)Thanks for the echinacea tip, after a good night's rest I feel much better. :)

Date: 2006-09-23 02:25 am (UTC)As for March of the Penguins... bring tissues. It isn't overly bad, but for sensitive people like us, any bad makes tissues a requirement.

Are you saying I should check out this post of yours? Like maybe I'd find the little iconages helpful? Say it ain't so.
....
You know, just because they don't typically make greeting cards with sentiments like "...just, damn." or "Thank God, you loser!" doesn't mean they shouldn't.
Fine. But I still say that "Wow. Sucks to be you" ought to be a valid expression of commiseration in certain situations. ::Nods::

Date: 2006-09-23 02:56 am (UTC)hee :) Claybone. *snerk* I love your icons; you really are the Hallmark of LJ. I'm excited to hear about Lost S2. I haven't seen it but can't wait to get it. I bet my roommate gets it, though. He's very sneaky.
*sheepish* I've not seen 'March of the Penguins.' Is good, yes? I hear it's good.
Love the flickery candle icon, btw. Very nice.
Hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

Thank you for the sweet comments on the icons, hon. They mean a lot!
*hugs back*

Date: 2006-09-23 11:58 pm (UTC)I could totally get into a "all happy, all the time" nature channel. It's like I know that bad things happen in the animal world, and that predators need to eat, but I still hate seeing it!

Date: 2006-09-24 05:00 am (UTC)Exactly! I much prefer the ostrich approach what with the sticking my head in the sand and ignoring everything bad/sad and all.

Date: 2006-09-24 12:00 am (UTC)I love LOVE Lost, but it can be confusing, especially if episodes are missed. Maybe you'll be able to catch up this season.
I know the predator needs to eat, but I hate seeing the actual kill. Wah! I always want the prey to get away, ESPECIALLY if it's a baby.

Date: 2006-09-23 01:59 pm (UTC)I just wanted to say that I haven't been on LJ in awhile, but I've missed your icons. Also, I want desparatly for you to become a fan of Grey's Anatomy so you can make those icons too. ;)
Have you ever made Friends Only Banners?

Date: 2006-09-24 12:10 am (UTC)I've been making lots of icon posts lately, so you'll have to backtrack to see if there are any you'd like. :)
I've not watched Grey's Anatomy, but I've heard good things about it. I'm committed to House M.D. and Lost right now, and until I get tired of one of them, I doubt I'll be able to cram in another show interest. :)
I don't make FO banners, as icons are more than enough to keep my busy.

Date: 2006-09-25 11:50 pm (UTC)We are weenies. Card carrying members of the weenie tribe. But that's ok, because we're so cute. :D
Animal abuse really, really upsets me. Like beyond upset. I pity the fool that would dare lay a finger on one of my baby dogs. I'd go to prison, no doubt about it.
OMGosh your doggies in your icon are so cute! *loves on them*
