Eventful Days...
May. 25th, 2004 09:58 amLast night I tried desperately to stay up for the fireworks display over the falls. It was supposed to begin at 10 pm, and I held on until then and saw 1. Wheee. I was so exhaused from being up since 3:30 am, I just couldn't hang in there. I gave up and went up to the room. Today I found out that the spectacular show began at 10:05 pm. Right. After. I. Left.....Bugger.
I did get the chance to drive across the Rainbow Bridge with my Uncle earlier last night, and went to Buffalo, New York. It was a short trip...just running to Hard Rock Cafe for a minute. Then today we all walked across the bridge to Buffalo to see the American Falls. Niagara Falls is gorgeous! MIL and I went on the Cave of the Winds tour, and I actually got to stand in the falls! I got soaking wet, even with a rain parka, but it was such an amazing experience. I touched Niagara Falls! We also got to keep some groovy, free sandals required for the tour.
Went back to the room, cleaned up and changed. Headed out to Niagara on the Lake. It was a neat little historic shopping district, I didn't buy anything...but I did get to sit on a park bench and feed the birds. Cute birds!
Had dinner with MIL, SIL & boyfriend in the Penthouse Restaurant. Great view of the falls, food not too impressive for the price. As a nice surprise MIL treated us.
Went into the hotel Casino. Got carded alot. Was told how young I looked alot. Kept wanting to get back in line to have ego stroked. MIL was getting sick of hearing all the compliments. Hee.
