The hubby and I went out for dinner last night, and to see The Village My hubby was skeptical before we went to see it, as he isn't a Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror fan, but he said he liked it, and thought it was interesting. I thought that Bryce Dallas Howard did a wonderful job, as did Joaquin Phoenix, and Adrian Brody.
Today I've been on a mission. To find every crack and crevice in my house and fill it with canned foam. A friend of the family that has a pest control business, swears that this is the best thing to deter mice, and insects from entering your home. This stuff is so cool! I think I got a little carried away with it, and got it on myself, and even in my hair. Typical exuberance with the domestic goddess bit. I even pulled out my dishwasher to seal up where the wiring comes through the floor. My life, so exciting. Jealous? :P

I can be such a huge dork about doing stuff around the house. When I get started, I get really enthusiastic about it. *is dork*

I will try not to get all Move Critic on you, but the Village was a disappointment to me. I'm a huge fan of the director and i found this to be all disjointed, slow-paced, anti-climatic and filled with just so many holes, it made me cry. Yes, movies make me dramatic...or i'm dramatic about movies. One of the two, but really... And though i am a fan of both Phoenix and Brody, the only one for me that shone at all was Bryce Dallas Howard, as Ivy. I've actually never seen her in anything before and i thought she was a commanding lead, very believable and engaging.
And yeah, i caught on quickly too, and the moment the word "alley" came in, my roommate Mike started whispering feverishly with me over what the twist would be. We rock :P

Date: 2004-09-19 02:02 am (UTC)I understand. Luckily, I'm fairly easy to please when it comes to movies. It has to *really* suck or have a terrible/tragic ending to bug me.
Bryce Dallas Howard, as Ivy. I've actually never seen her in anything before
From what I've read, this was her first film...and that makes her performance even more impressive!
We rock :P
Yes we do! I started piecing the why of it all together when I realized everyone had lost someone to a violent crime. *beams*
