Pre-episode & post-episode...
Oct. 9th, 2003 08:42 pmLast night before AtS,
angstchic and I were lucky enough to get a phone call from
amoonchilde (you are such a sweetie! *hugs*) We had the best conversation, and got in alot of squee time, laughs and cutting up before we settled in to watch the new ep...so much fun that we may have to make this the new weekly tradition. :)
I was glad that they showed the ending scene with Buffy & Spike, but I would of rather had them not cut the "I love you." line. I feel that if they were going to show the scene, it should have been shown intact, not edited.
I was glad that ME wasn't stingy with Spike's screen time, and I throughly enjoyed his unerring ability to annoy Angel. I was a bit thrown by the differences in the way his character reacted to things, I guess because I was expecting a continuation of the character traits in the last few eps of BtVS. I won't say that I was disappointed, but I wasn't completely satisfied once the show ended. I did enjoy the last scene with Fred.
The one thing that I don't want to see is Spike the outsider. I don't want to have to watch him be put through his paces to prove his loyalties/goodness/trustworthy-ness etc. to Angel and Co. He has more than proved himself worthy in BtVS, and I want to see him fully accepted, and a necessary part of the team.
I am also now struggling with whether or not I want to remain spoiler-free. I sometimes feel that I am shortchanging myself the pleasure of articles, essays, etc. by trying so hard to avoid spoilage. I haven't completely decided what I'm going to do yet, but I'm definitely thinking about it.
I am looking forward to the next episode, and I am interested to see how the character interactions continue to develop.

Date: 2003-10-09 07:16 pm (UTC)I've always been spoiled, and not because I'm an only child. Hee! Even, though I read the reviews, and the spoilers that come in, I've never been disappointed, because the episodes are always so much better when you actually see them, compared to reading what someone else has written about them. I have given up the wildfeeds...but that's all. :)
