Why do jeans for women fall into three catergories?

1. Potential-plumber's-butt hip huggers, that have the much sought after boot cut leg.

2. At-waist jeans that only come in straight or tapered leg.

3. Jeans with elastic waists that come in tapered leg.

Don't these people realize that some people want the boot cut leg look, without the danger of mooning someone! I detest low cut jeans. They never seem to stay where they're supposed too, and I'm constantly having to tug the stupid things up every time I rise from a seated position. I don't want this hassle while on vacation, so I threw caution to the wind and bought below waist jeans a size too large just so I can belt them up closer to my waist. I fly in the face of fashion for comfort, darn it! The day that they start making at-waist boot cut jeans around here, is the day that I'll call in 36 bloody trombones.

I've been wondering how the heck you make the color change on text.

And right there with you on the hip huggers. Won't even buy them because I hate the way they feel. Always worried I'm going to be showing off more than one smile to the crowd.

Thank heavens I'm not the only female in the world that is sick of hip hugger jeans! Let's start a petition! :P

See to me, your name looks gold. My computer is showing all the colors different. ::pout::

Gold? Huh! Your name looks lime green to me too, though. Maybe just your reds are off on your computer?

I can see [livejournal.com profile] daylight_shadow's name in red just fine. I don't know if that's what she sees it as tho. It could just be the way my browser is reading it.

Yeah, it's the browser. I check in Netscape and it showed red. hmm... that's weird.

That is weird! My older desktop computer showed everything darker than my other computers did. That used to drive me nuts if I was working on graphics or something, but my new laptop seems to be spot-on with colors and contrast.

I'm sorry you were having jean trauma, hon! I don't like the hip huggers, but I love the Levi's low-rise flares. They don't sit so far down on the hips, or at least not on me, and they come in that nice comfy stretch jean material. :)

I got 2 pair of Levi's 515 low rise boot cut yesterday, and they weren't as bad as some other low rise jeans. I also got 2 pair of Old Navy "just below waist" jeans - but I still bought 1 size larger, because I need them a little higher on my waist.
I'm a strong advocate of stretchy jean material! I hate the way that denim pinches without it.

I have a solution for your jeans issue! My mother (who detests hip huggers "I was there the first time honey") loves these jeans from Target by Mossimo. They arent so high that your waist is suddenly your bust line, but they arent 5" below your waist either. I think they are probably like 2" below the natural waist. Try them. I highly recommend them. Boot Cut abounds!!

I've seen that brand in Target, but it seems like they didn't come in long. Do you know if the ones your Mom bought do?
I'm only 5'7", but I have long legs, and need something with a 33-34 inch inseam.

Well, my Mom is almost 5'9" and they are long enough on her...Im not sure if she specifically bought long, but the ones she has are long enough. And it was her 5'10" sister is the one who recommended them....

Here are the jeans. The target website doesnt sell them, but check out the reviews at the bottom, theres a whole thing about the inseam. :o)

Word!

And let's not forget the fourth kind....jeans that fit just below the waist, and are boot cut, so their completely perfect, except you're five foot eight and they hit you three inches above the ankle......

*nods sagely* Preach it! I'm 5'7" and need a 33-34 inch inseam, so I'm right there with you. Long length is a must! Why they don't size jeans for women like they do men astounds me. How lovely would it be to be able to have a selection of waist sizes & inseam lengths to choose from?
