Had a lovely night out with the Hubby last night, dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, and then we went to see Van Helsing.

I really enjoyed it, and surprisingly so did my Hubby. He is usually turned off by outlandish stunts & unrealistic effects, but he got a kick out of this movie.
Hugh Jackman makes a very cool hero, and I liked the chemistry between he and Kate Beckinsdale. David Wenham stole the show IMO, he was so adorably, the nutty genius! He was so good in a comedic role.
The only thing I would have liked better is a different ending. It really caught me by surprise that the Princess died. I expected the guy to get the girl, and that is always the type of ending that I prefer, but other than that it was alot of fun to watch.

Yes they are! :) We went out to eat for my birthday, but it's been a while since we've gone to see a movie.

I went to see Van Helsing last Friday, and I really enjoyed it too. It was a great plot, and well carried out throughout. I also loved the little Friar/Monk dude! He was wicked! I'd change the ending too, but I thought it was too sappy - I was groaning towards the end when it looked like they were going to live happily ever after. Sorry ETS! I hate those sorts of endings (except of course when they include Spike! ;-) ). I still thought the heaven stuff was too sappy! I'm just cold hearted I guess. :-)

I mean, I did go to the cinema instead of the prom. *grin*
