My poor In-laws had to put their 15 year old Schnauzer to sleep this morning. They are so upset. She'd lost alot of weight over the last week, and they'd taken her to the vet for xrays this morning. She had masses of tumors around her internal organs, and the vet said putting her to sleep was the best thing to do. Even though they know it's the best thing, it is still so hard to let go.
I imagine that they will eventually get another puppy since they still have a younger Schnauzer, and he'll be lonely now.

Date: 2004-03-01 04:40 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry about hobbitbeagle. *hugs* I had to put my 13 year old German Shepherd to sleep in November, so I know how very hard it is. I still have my two Pomeranians thank goodness. I hope that you can get another puppy soon.

I'd seen it before, but this past Nov. when I had to put my German Shepherd to sleep, the vet's office sent me a condolence card with that on it. It always makes me tear up. *sniff*
